A new methylation analysis method called UMBS-seq has been introduced to address the limitations of traditional bisulfite sequencing, which damages DNA, and enzyme-based alternatives that lack consistency, according to a publication in Nature Communications. This "ultra-mild" sequencing method aims to improve the accuracy of cancer DNA methylation tests.
