New LiDAR analysis suggests that Raknehaugen, Scandinavia's largest prehistoric mound, may have been built in response to a devastating landslide rather than to honor a high-status individual. This study, conducted by Dr. Lars Gustavsen and published in the European Journal of Archaeology, challenges the long-held assumption that the mound served as a burial site for a prominent figure.
