The Iran Football Federation announced that the United States has not yet issued entry visas for members of Iran’s national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Federation president Mehdi Taj stated that no player has received a visa and the process is taking a long time. Iran's national team is set to begin a 15-day training camp in Türkiye this week, and officials hope the visa issue will be resolved during that time. Taj plans to meet with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Secretary General Matthias Grafström to discuss the situation. Iran had previously requested to move its Group G matches from the US to Mexico, but this request was denied.
