The greater Bermuda snail (Poecilozonites bermudensis), once thought to be extinct, is now thriving due to conservation efforts. Special pods at Chester Zoo have enabled conservationists to breed and release over 100,000 of these button-sized snails. A remnant population was discovered in Hamilton, Bermuda, in 2014, after the species was believed to have vanished from the North Atlantic archipelago.
