Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior VP of services, noted that Netflix has played a crucial role in promoting Formula 1 since the launch of "Drive to Survive." He expressed enthusiasm about making F1 content more widely available to both new and existing fans in the U.S. This partnership benefits Apple by providing related F1 programming to air alongside live races, while Netflix continues its strategy of airing live events, including F1 races in the U.S. The eighth season of "Drive to Survive," which has previously been exclusive to Netflix, will now be available on Apple TV as well. This collaboration comes as Apple TV has secured a five-year deal to be the U.S. streaming home for F1 races, allowing subscribers to watch every episode of the new season without needing to switch platforms.
