The Coral Adventurer, a cruise ship that ran aground off Papua New Guinea, has been “detained” amid concerns of being unseaworthy due to potential damage. The ship remains stuck on a reef approximately 30km from Lae, PNG’s second-largest city, as efforts to refloat it continue. This incident is part of a separate investigation regarding the alleged abandonment of a passenger who died on Lizard Island.
