A study published by Phys.org indicates that the rapid development and spread of insecticide resistance in wild Anopheles mosquito populations is undermining malaria prevention efforts, despite the significant role insecticides have played in controlling the disease. This resistance poses a serious challenge as malaria continues to claim the lives of over half a million people annually, predominantly children under five in Sub-Saharan Africa.
