A UCL-led study finds that the labor market returns for female graduates have been historically overestimated due to the reliance on tax data. The study reveals that much of the documented graduate pay premium for young women is attributed to longer working hours rather than higher hourly wages, indicating that the pay premium is two thirds lower than previously thought.
