The first-ever sanctuary of mountain ice cores has been established in Antarctica, preserving these climate archives for centuries. This milestone is part of the Ice Memory project, which was launched in 2015 by CNRS, IRD, the University of Grenoble-Alpes (France), CNR, Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Italy), and the Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland).
