An international research team led by the CNR Institute of Polar Sciences (Italy) and involving the University of Bonn has analyzed sediment drill cores to reveal the climate history of Antarctica over the past 3,700 years. The study, published in the journal Nature Communications, shows a connection between this climate history and natural fluctuations in solar activity. The remnants of ice attached to the coast provide significant insights into past climate conditions.
