Summary

A study by researchers at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture at the University of São Paulo (CENA-USP) found residues of various classes of antibiotics in the Piracicaba River in São Paulo, Brazil. The research also examined the accumulation of these substances in fish and identified that the aquatic plant Salvinia auriculata can partially reduce this accumulation. The findings were published in the journal Environmental Sciences Europe.
