An investigation by Al Jazeera has revealed that Israel used internationally prohibited thermal and thermobaric weapons during its military operations in Gaza, resulting in the vaporization of thousands of Palestinians. Civil defense teams in Gaza documented over 2,800 cases of individuals who vanished since the onset of the conflict in October 2023. The investigation highlighted that the US-made bombs burned at temperatures reaching 3,500 degrees Celsius, leading to the obliteration of bodies, leaving only remnants such as pieces of flesh, specks of blood, or ash. The report indicates that the use of these weapons has contributed to widespread destruction across the Gaza Strip, with entire neighborhoods being reduced to rubble. The term "evaporated" is used to describe the fate of many victims, emphasizing the severity of the impact these weapons have had on the civilian population. The findings were presented in the Al Jazeera Arabic program, The Rest of the Story, which focused on the humanitarian consequences of the ongoing conflict. Since the beginning of the war, the situation in Gaza has deteriorated significantly, with reports of extensive casualties and destruction. The investigation raises serious concerns regarding the legality and ethical implications of the weaponry employed in the conflict, particularly in light of international laws prohibiting the use of such devastating arms against civilian populations.
