Spotify is introducing a new feature called "Smart Reorder" that allows Premium users to automatically rearrange their playlists based on beats per minute (BPM) and musical key. This feature is designed to enhance the flow between tracks, making transitions smoother and more seamless. The "Smart Reorder" option builds on the existing "Mix" feature that was launched in August of the previous year, which enabled users to create customized transitions within their playlists, eliminating awkward silences between songs. To utilize the "Smart Reorder" feature, users need to open a playlist, tap the "Mix" button, and then select the "Edit" option. After that, they can find the "Smart Reorder" button, which, when tapped, will automatically rearrange the songs in the playlist according to their BPM and key. Users only need to click "Save" for the changes to take effect. This feature effectively automates the process of creating a DJ-like mix for users, allowing them to enjoy a continuous listening experience without manual adjustments. The announcement of the "Smart Reorder" feature was made on Wednesday, and it is currently available in the Spotify app for Premium subscribers. Spotify has reported that users have streamed over 220 hours of their music using the Mix feature, indicating a strong engagement with the platform's tools for enhancing music playback. The introduction of "Smart Reorder" is expected to further improve user experience by providing a more dynamic and cohesive listening environment.
