Adobe’s new AI video editing tool stitches clips into a first draft

Adobe is launching a new feature called Quick Cut within its Firefly video editor, aimed at assisting video editors in creating a structured first draft of their projects. This feature is currently in beta and allows users to automatically assemble video clips based on text prompts and simple creator inputs. Quick Cut is designed to help creators transition from having raw clips to a preliminary edit, thereby reducing the time spent on the initial stages of video editing. According to Mike Polner, Adobe's head of product marketing for creators, Quick Cut enables users to upload their own b-roll footage or generate new content, which can then be instantly organized into a cohesive first cut. This innovation is intended to eliminate the challenge of starting with an empty timeline, providing a more efficient workflow for video editing.
