Four audience members were expelled from the first Eurovision Song Contest for pro-Palestine activism during the Israeli entry. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) stated that one audience member loudly expressed their views near a microphone as the Israeli artist began performing, which was heard on the live broadcast. They were removed by security for continuing to disturb the audience, along with three other individuals for disruptive behavior.
