A customer purchased an ROG Astral RTX 5080 from Amazon, canceled the order, but still received the GPU and a $1,850 refund. Amazon instructed the customer to keep both the GPU and the refund. The unboxed GPU had a single 8-pin connector and was identified as a 5060 Ti instead of the expected RTX 5080. Additionally, there have been reports of scams involving fake GPUs, including a case where 42 customers were deceived by a $999 RTX 5090 scam, receiving fanny packs instead.
