SN 2025mkn is a Type II supernova located at a redshift of 1.371, approximately 9 billion light years away. It was not expected to be visible, as ordinary stellar explosions at that distance do not produce enough light for detailed study. However, astronomers can observe this supernova with extraordinary clarity, attributed to the effects of gravity.
