Chinese University of Hong Kong ‘expels’ student held for sedition over Tai Po fire

A student from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Miles Kwan Ching-fung, has announced his expulsion from the institution after being arrested for sedition. Kwan was detained for launching a petition calling for an independent investigation into the Tai Po fire. He stated on social media that he had been suspended twice and had studied intermittently over the past six years.
