Apple’s AirTag uses a standard replaceable coin cell battery that typically lasts around a year. When the battery runs low, an iPhone will alert the user. Replacing the battery is a simple process that takes a few minutes and does not require tools. To replace the battery, hold the AirTag with the polished stainless steel side facing up, press down on the metal battery cover, and rotate it counterclockwise until it stops. Lift off the cover, remove the old battery, and insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive side facing up.
