The Israeli army has completed a two-day raid in the Qalandiya refugee camp, located in the occupied West Bank, resulting in at least 51 Palestinians being wounded. The military operation commenced on Wednesday, when a significant number of military vehicles entered the camp before dawn, bringing along boxes, equipment, and maps. Soldiers were deployed throughout various neighborhoods within the camp, conducting home raids and searches as part of the operation. During the raid, Israeli forces seized several homes and other buildings, converting them into detention and field interrogation centers. According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, more than 60 Palestinians, including women and children, were detained or subjected to field interrogation during the operation. The Qalandiya camp is home to over 15,000 Palestinian refugees, living in a densely populated area that has historically been a target for Israeli military actions due to its strategic location between Jerusalem and Ramallah, as well as its proximity to Israeli settlements and other Israeli-controlled regions. The raid in Qalandiya reflects ongoing tensions in the region, as Israeli forces frequently conduct military operations in Palestinian areas. The impact of such raids on the local population, particularly in terms of injuries and detentions, continues to be a significant concern for human rights organizations and local communities.
