In the case Doe v. Zeinalpoor-Movahed, decided on May 7, 2024, by Judge John Tharp in the Northern District of Illinois, the plaintiff who voluntarily dismissed a sexual assault lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend is required to pay the defendant's costs. However, the plaintiff is not obligated to pay the defendant's attorney's fees. The decision has been recently posted on Westlaw.
