Colombia's new hard-right government, led by President Abelardo de la Espriella, is considering using prison ships adrift at sea to detain individuals deemed highly dangerous criminals, according to a defence ministry source. De la Espriella, who took office earlier this month, has pledged to take a strong stance against armed groups in Colombia, the world's largest cocaine producer, and has campaigned on plans to bomb guerrillas and construct "mega prisons" similar to those in El Salvador.
