French anti-terrorism prosecutors have initiated an investigation into a suspected attack targeting the Bank of America’s headquarters in Paris. This follows the arrest of a man who allegedly attempted to ignite a homemade explosive device outside the bank's premises in the 8th arrondissement, near the Champs-Elysées, early on Saturday at approximately 3:30 AM. The device reportedly contained five liters of liquid believed to be fuel and included an ignition mechanism. The investigation has been classified as a "terrorist criminal conspiracy" by the French counter-terrorism prosecutor's office. The police intervention was crucial in preventing the suspect from detonating the device, which could have led to a significant incident. In addition to the initial arrest, two new suspects have been apprehended in connection with the foiled bomb plot. One of the suspects claimed to have been recruited via the Snapchat app to carry out the bombing in exchange for €600 (approximately $692). Another individual connected to the incident remains at large, and authorities are working to identify all individuals involved in the plot. The swift action taken by law enforcement has been credited with averting potential danger, underscoring ongoing concerns regarding security and possible terrorist activities in urban areas, particularly those associated with American interests. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focused on determining the full scope of the plot and the identities of all suspects involved.
