Authorities in Russia are intensifying their crackdown on Indigenous rights activists, as highlighted by the jailing of Daria Egereva. On the operation day, federal security service (FSB) agents raided the homes and workplaces of 17 activists across all of Russia’s 11 time zones, conducting searches and confiscating laptops and phones. Activists were arrested and interrogated regarding their participation in international forums. While most were released, many have since left the country, and others who remain will no longer speak out.
