U.S. filmmaker Laura Poitras will be the Special Guest at the opening of the 24th edition of VdR–Industry, part of the documentary festival Visions du Réel’s program for industry professionals. Poitras is known for winning an Oscar with “Citizenfour,” a documentary about whistleblower Edward Snowden, and has received Oscar nominations for “My Country, My Country” and other works. The film “Cover-Up” will also be screened at the festival.
