Israeli air strikes in Gaza on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of at least 24 Palestinians, including infants, according to health officials. The casualties included seven women and five children, with reports of a 5-month-old and a 10-day-old baby among the deceased. The strikes occurred despite a fragile ceasefire that had been in place since October 10, 2025. The Israeli military stated that the air strikes were a response to gunfire from militants that seriously wounded one of its soldiers. In total, Gaza's health ministry reported that Israeli strikes have killed at least 556 people since the ceasefire began. The situation remains tense, with both Israel and Hamas accusing each other of violating the ceasefire agreement.
