The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa) headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem was set on fire following its demolition by Israeli forces on January 20, 2026. The suspected arson is being investigated, and eight firefighting teams were dispatched to extinguish the blaze. There were no immediate reports of injuries. Unrwa's commissioner-general, Philippe Lazzarini, criticized the attack as part of an ongoing effort to dismantle the status of Palestinian refugees and erase their history.
