Intercity quantum sensor network tightens axion dark matter constraints

Phys.org2/2/2026

Summary

Scientists from institutions including the University of Science and Technology of China have developed the first intercity nuclear-spin-based quantum sensor network. This breakthrough in nuclear-spin quantum precision measurement experimentally constrains axion topological-defect dark matter and surpasses astrophysical limits. The study is published in the journal Nature.
