Forgiveness

A friend sent the author Lucille Clifton’s poem “blessing the boats” after the author began the year with blessings. The author and the friend, who met at a poetry workshop, resolved to write more poetry together by choosing a line from a favorite poem each week as a joint prompt. The author has been contemplating forgiveness and its ability to dislodge blame.
